In an interview for Deloitte Digital’s MM&M Agency Issue profile, Larry Mickelberg didn’t dispute the widely held notion that, of the A-list consultancies, Deloitte poses the largest competitive threat to traditional agencies. “There are firms we respect creatively and firms we respect technologically, but really, we’re out here doing our own thing,” he said.
That “thing” includes access to a wealth of resources that few agency networks, much less agencies themselves, can muster. Deloitte’s innovation studio was jointly developed with Sony, Intel and Dell; its Center for Health Solutions think tank produces an abundance of thoughtful and influential content.
Steering it all is Mickelberg, one of the few execs to have led both an agency and a consultancy’s health arm.
